We spent Easter Day at the Fairyhouse Race Track. Apparently it is a big day for families to go to the races, so we thought we'd check it out. It was a beautiful sunny day and the place was very exciting. I thought people were very dressed up for a horse race, but I guess I just wasn't cultured in this event. Dresses, fancy bags and 5 inch heels is the attire, so now I know and next time I won't be in jeans and a hoodie :) We did some betting and ended the day with a small amount of winnings, enough to cover our drinks and have some to take home. Not too bad for rookies. The kids really enjoyed being outside and watching the horses. Isabella cheered for the pink horse every time. They had bounce houses set up for the kids, food vendors, and picnic areas by the track. We had a good time and will be going to more races soon.

Dancing

Isabella has really been into dancing now that she does Irish dance every Monday. She practices every day at home and she is getting so much better. So you know how Irish dance involves jumping and kicking your legs and stuff. Well, when she first started classes she couldn't jump, she just pointed her toe and tapped the ground. It was good, because she did it when she was supposed to, she just didn't jump. Well, after lots of practice, she is able to jump. Well, the other day as the kids were dressing up as ballerinas, I caught this video of her and Nolan dancing together. You can see her doing some of her Irish dancing in the clip. Nolan gives it a go as well.

The sweetest thing

Okay, I just have to write about this. As I was reading Nolan his books before bed tonight he started to do the most precious thing. He was holding his baby and then he started showing Baby all the pictures. Then we started a book that we do hand motions to and instead of doing the motions himself like he usually does, he helped Baby do all of the hand motions. He had Baby kick his legs, fly like a bird, clap, play peek a boo, and sleep. It was great! Then he started to sing "The Hokey Kokey" which is a version of 'Hokey Pokey" and he had Baby do all the actions. I wish I had it on video, it was priceless. Maybe I'll catch it some day...I hope I do. Anyways, that was my 'Moment of the Week' for sure!

This is just a humorous video I took of Nolan and his new obsession with gravel. And I do mean a "love" obsession. He just has to swim around in any large area of gravel he walks by. It's dirty, but still so funny. Boys will be boys.

March

Okay, now it's time to catch up on what's been going on. Let's see, in March my parents came for a visit. They were here maybe 2 days when Eric got a call that his Grandma had passed away, so he had to fly back to Michigan and basically missed seeing my parents. Fortunately for me, my parents were here, so I had some help. We traveled around the towns nearby and got some great pictures at the beach in Skerries, it was cold, but sunny that day. My parents got to see one of my volleyball matches and meet most of the girls on team, they got to see the last 10 minutes of Isabella's Irish dance class and we did some shopping too. Mom and I went to a pub called The Merry Ploughboys and we had a traditional Irish dinner and then watched some live traditional music and Irish dancers. It was very fun and the entertainment was great. We also took a road trip to Kilkenny for a couple days. I didn't know what to expect, but I really loved the town. There is a beautiful castle(no surprise there as Ireland has a castle on every corner...kind of like Walgreens) anyways, this castle is on the river and we were lucky enough to get a hotel directly across the river from the castle. It was beautiful. We toured the castle and the grounds and then checked out the rest of the town. We kept busy doing something every day. The kids love having their grandparents here.
